I really like the atmosphere it creates by the pixelated screen and uneasy sound effects. The design of the low light by lamp definitely terrified me a lot due to the fear for unknown, which lasted till the indescribable end.
Btw, would you kindly tell me what kind of sound effect do you use (or what are these kind of sound effects called) when your character murmurs? I really like the sound, which reminds me of the sound effects in horror game "Faith: The Unholy Trinity". I tried to search this kind of sound using the term "Distorted horror voices" but failed to find anything suitable for the feeling of "indescribable whisper". It would be very useful for my game so I'll appreciate it if you could tell me something about the effect.
Thank you for the lovely comment, I am super glad that you had such a great experience with the game. The character murmurs are all recordings of myself and then heavily processed, unfortunately I can't quite remember how I did it now. I think I did it with a Bitcrush plug in using LMMS if memory recalls.
Wow, you are so talented! Thanks a lot for the information of LMMS and I'll give it a try as well. Due to the interest for Hagrodeand your other lovely games (I'll try all of them in my free time), I decide to join your Cosmic Horrors Jam of this year. Lacking experience in game jam, it might be a real challenge for me but I'll try my best.
Thank you again, yeah I definitely reccomend LMMS. Especially as it is completely free. I wish you the best of luck with Cosmic Horrors Jam and I hope you enjoy it, thank you so much for joining. I can't wait to check out what you create for it.
Sorry only just seen this now, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll try and address the bug when I next get a chance, appreciate you letting me know - I had no idea ๐
I second the feeling of surprise, I can tell that storytelling is a huge strength for you and I felt so immersed it was awesome! Sound was really great too, all in all a lovely (if creepy) little story!
Whoa, this game is really interesting! It does so well in creating an unsettling mood in this pixelated setting, while the mystery and lack of context of the overall story drew me in with no other convincing necessary. Now that I think about it, the art style of this game reminds me a bit of that Godzilla creepypasta. Also, I think the blue demon head statues look very cool. This whole little experience is very cool
This game completely took me by surprise and in a very good way! I did not expect the story to develop in such a natural way as a I kept walking, the dread of not knowing what was at the other side of the darkness, the eerie face staring at me from afar, and strange beings that appeared before my eyes, I felt as if my sanity was slowly being depleted all the way till the end!
Man what a great presentation, the sound was amazing and the music was really dreadful and fitting! Loved this one a lot!

This was a nice little game.
BTW, if you head left when the game starts you walk off the screen and get stuck, which was funny.

this is really sick!
what engine was this made in? I'm on a quest to find cool engines, and that loading screen looks unlike others I have found!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! This was made in Clickteam Fusion 2.5+ (with the HTML5 exporter for the web version)
